Camping

This last weekend was the start of a tradition. Our Sunday school class went camping last spring. The Behrens fam did not camp out we just went for the fun on Friday evening. By the next week a Fall camping trip was planned. It took place this past weekend. Our Sunday school class is going to plan two trips a year one in the Spring and one in the Fall. I just have to say it was a BLAST. Daniel packet up the car with all things camping and out doors. We headed out to Cleburne State Park. The weather was forcasted to be beautiful. We were so excited. We had about 15 families come out and camp. We had everything from a borrowed or rented travel trailer to a little pop up tent. It was a weekend of relaxation and enjoyment of the out doors. The guys went fishing Friday night and Saturday evening, there was a game of flag football played, the kids played at the park and ran around the camp sites. The ladies played some mean rounds of SPOONS!!! I was a little rusty, got out the first round I played!

Ok I have to say that for the most part we roughed the weekend but you have to understand that there was electricity at the sites so we did take along our heater so little man did not get cold at night. Friday night before bed and during the first round of SMORES the kiddos watched Veggie Tales on the projector, that is right I said projector. It is some sight to see all the kids in their little chairs all lined up in the woods watching a movie.

The highlights of the trip were the worship times. Saturday night we had some praise and worship time, nothing better then singing to God under his stars. Then we had a devotion time. It felt like God was speaking to each one of us individually. After the serious stuff we did let it all out and sit around the camp fire and talk about the 80's, mainly the ugly clothes we all wore. Then Sunday morning we were back to the serious stuff. Last year everyone only stayed one night and for all that work we decided it would be better for a two night camp out. So we had church Sunday morning, starting with some praise and worship then the Lord's Supper. Taking the Lord's supper in his creation is the best. We headed down to the lake to have baptisms. Two friends got baptised in the lake. It looked cold but that is how God was baptised so that is how they wanted theirs to be. It was an emotional and exciting time. Enjoy the pictures.

Praise God. I'm so glad each of you had a rewarding experience. Malachi is a beautiful little boy. You and Dandiel must be doing a wonderful job.
