So It Begins

Neither of our children were fond of their cribs. Malachi was not a sleeper and would rather be in your arms. As a new mom I LOVED IT! But come on by 14 months the kid needs to be sleeping through the night. We decided to move him into his big boy bed. Love the life style cribs that turn into the full size bed. We already had the mattress so here we went. HE LOVED IT!! First night he slept through the night.

So as Hailey started to fight sleeping in her crib I did not fight back. We got her twin size bed and here we went. She was 14 months as well. For Hailey the twin size bed with a extra long bed rail was basically an over sized crib. She did not realize she could get out, of course she was not walking very well either so we were safe. She has enjoyed her big bed and we have loved knowing she could not get out! There was about a foot opening at the end of the bed that she could get out if she ever figured it out. We were counting on this not happening for a long time.

This weekend changed everything. PePaw was up for the weekend so Malachi bunked in Hailey's room. He slept in the guest bed. Saturday morning to our surprise M and H walk out of H's room all by themselves. Malachi proceeded to tell us Hailey got out of her bed all by herself. (not sure if she was taught at that moment or not by her big brother, only they now) We hoped that maybe Malachi helped her out and she would forget. Sunday morning Malachi was in Hailey's bed when Dad went in. At nap time we hear a knock on H's door. Our hopes were crushed she has officially figured it out. There she was standing at her door so sweet. Those cheeks are so sweet that you cannot help but love on them.

Again this morning a knock on the door when little miss sunshine woke up. I guess this is our life as we know it, Freedom has been found!!
