Sunday after church we had some friends come over, Aunt JoJo and Uncle Steve. It took Malachi a little bit to show his full colors but soon Uncle Steve was the best. The man is just a big kid. The foam and blow up swords came out at some point, chasing was in full swing and then boom, Malachi's mouth met the step into the hall way. For those of you who have not been to our house we have a sunken living room, so there are steps going up into the hallway. Usually little man has no problems but his feet were just going way to fast and he slipped. The crash was very loud, Daddy to the rescue. Daniel brought him to me b/c blood was starting to poor out. Uncle Steve was feeling really bad, even though it was not his fault.
We rushed into the bathroom for a wash cloth and filled it up pretty fast. Through the screams and hand pushing away, we noticed a cut on the outside of his mouth and the inside. It was at that moment when I thought how bad does it have to be before we go to Cooks, the children's hospital. This is still something I am not sure about. Daniel, myself, and uncle Steve all took a look and decided he did not bit through his lip. It took a while for the blood to stop and for the tears to calm down but one pop-ice later and a few minutes of cuddling with mom the little man was all better.
I believe this was one of the most scariest moments of my mommy career so far.
Malachi did convince Uncle Steve to take him outside in the 90 degree weather and swing him. He was set in his froggy hat, sunscreen, and water bottle to squirt who ever or what ever walked by him, he was good to go. The kid will swing for hours if you let him. After about an hour his eyes got very heavy and he ended up falling asleep in his swing. Knowing that leaving him out in the 90 degrees was not the best plan the swing and all came inside to finish off the nap. Malachi slept for an hour sitting in his swing on the couch.
He was such a trooper. Now you would never know that he almost had a visit at Cooks. First Man scare down, not sure how many more to go!!
