Car Conversations

It has been so long since I wrote a blog post.  There are many things I wish I had written about so that I could be reminded later.  So I am starting now.

Today Hailey is celebrating The Last Supper at school.  She saw her food in the car and got very excited this morning.  She started talking about the Last Supper.  To hear the knowledge she has of God and who He is, is amazing and wonderful.

She proceeded to tell us that Jesus had his last meal with His disciples and He told them that one of them would betray Him that night.  We talked about who that would be.  And then Hailey told us that Jesus had to carry his cross through the streets and up a large hill and then guards nailed him to the cross.  I asked her if she knew why Jesus had to die on the cross and in her sweet child voice she said "to save us from our sin."  I love her faith in Christ in that young age and cannot wait to see what God does in her life.  Malachi continued the story and told us how Jesus was raised on the third day and He went to Heaven to get it ready for us.

Hailey talks a lot about God and who He is and how she wants to meet him.  This has scared a few friends from time to time because she will talk about how she would like to die so that she can meet God.  Sorry anybody who I have not warned and you thought maybe my child had suicidal thoughts!!  This morning she said that she really hopes that she is still on Earth so that she can meet God when He comes back to Earth.  We talked about, how we often do, that she will get to meet God when she dies only if she is a believer.  In that moment she screamed "I AM A BELIEVER."  I don't know if this is the child like faith or truly her coming to know Christ.  It is not for me to figure out right now but to guide her in the path she should go.  She reassures me that she has accepted Christ into her Heart and that she knows what sin is and that when we sin we have to confess our sins to God and He will forgive us.

This does bring up the question, How do you really know your young child has accepted Christ?  I know this is a talk we will have many times over because that is who Hailey is.  I love her with all my heart and cannot wait to see God's plan for her.
